A dark, mysterious group has left their mark on campus and around San Marcos.
University Springs, Alkek Library, The Barfish Lounge and Showdown are locations where the filming of Perchance to Dream took place.
Eric Daugherty, Texas State alumnus, has been directing the film with help from students and alumni.
Daugherty said the film is a story about a lanky, awkward young man named James who decides to go out to the bar and pick up ladies.
However, James lacks social skills and his night takes a turn for the worst.
A soaking wet Chris Covo was perched above a sparkling pool — the infamous dunking booth — Thursday afternoon in The Quad.
Bat Boy has been sighted and captured on campus. Students should enter his lair at their own risk.
Bat Boy: The Musical hits the main stage Wednesday at the Theatre Center.
The off-Broadway hit musical is based on a June 23, 1992 Weekly World News story about a half-boy, half- bat, nicknamed Bat Boy, found living in a cave.
The dark, witty modern musical comedy tells the story of an unusual boy with sharp, pointy ears and his enduring struggle to find love in a rejecting world.
Unknown to many, the parks of San Marcos, and even the university, hold secret treasures.
These treasures — called geocaches — are hidden, and how to hunt them has turned into a high-tech, modern day hide and seek.
Treasure hunters seek out their bounty with the aid of GPS devices. Even iPhone users are getting in on the game. These treasure seekers, or geocachers, begin their search for a cache on Web sites such as Geocaching.com, which have listings of geocaches hidden throughout San Marcos and the rest of the world.

Liudmila Litvinova travels home once a year, but to do so she has an eight-hour flight across the Atlantic, followed by a seven-hour flight from Germany to Russia.
Students sat under the stars Tuesday night for an evening of “Uniquely Texas” music.
They were treated to the sounds of The Trisha’s and The Band of Heathens at the Glade Outdoor Theatre. People of all ages turned out to dance, wave glow sticks and burn incense.
The concert was funded by students through Student Service Fees. The Stars of Texas Music Legacy is an annual event organized by Gary Hartman, Center for Texas Music History, and Richard Cheatham, dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication.

“I never checked myself,” Nettleton said. “I think people don’t realize they should be (checking).”
Nettleton underwent two surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
“I was scared,” Nettleton said.

Last year, Lauren Corbut was taking classes at Texas State. Today, she is a television news producer in one of the largest markets in America.
Corbut, CW producer in Dallas, said she typically does not go to her office until 1 p.m.
“Which is nice, until someone is trying to blow up a building in downtown Dallas, which happened last week,” Corbut said.
Texas State students will not sweat it out this year at South by Southwest.
The annual interactive film and music festival that takes place March 12 to March 21 will not coincide with the university’s Spring Break of March 7 to March 14.
The reason for an earlier Spring Break this year can be accredited to the university preparing for reaffirmation to Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
