San Marcos man hit by train

A San Marcos man is undergoing treatment at University Medical Center Brackenridge for injuries sustained from being struck by a train Tuesday afternoon.
City spokeswoman Melissa Millecam said the incident occurred in the 600 block of East Hopkins Street at about 1:40 p.m. The train was stopped near Hopkins Street and the H.E.B. grocery store as emergency crews assessed the scene.
The victim’s identify and condition are unknown at this point, Millecam said.
Millecam said Fire Chief Les Stephens is expected to release a statement regarding the incident later this afternoon.
