Western Athletic Conference officials have yet to determine a date for their visit to the Texas State campus, according to Senior Commissioner Jeff Hurd.

“As of now, nothing has been scheduled yet,” Hurd said. “I would be surprised if (the membership committee) could make it out within the next two weeks.”

Administrators of the Texas State fan site, BobcatFans, created the Facebook event, “The WAC visits TXST for Homecoming. Pack the Wack” for the Oct. 23 football game against Northwstern State in which more than 1,600 people RSVP’ed as “attending.” A user also posted on the site’s Twitter account claiming “many credible sources” confirmed WAC officials will visit campus during homecoming weekend.

Athletic Director Larry Teis said at the Texas State roundtable event Tuesday he is unsure when WAC officials would make the trip to San Marcos. Teis said because the membership committee is comprised of athletic directors, attendance to their respective schools’ football games could be a factor.
