Soccer defeats Northwestern State, extends winning streak

The Texas State soccer team defeated the Northwestern State Lady Demons, 3-0, in the team's 25th all-time meeting. The Bobcats are 15-8-3 against the Lady Demons.

Texas State extended their season winning streak to three games this season.

Tori Hale, senior forward, extended her streak to three consecutive games with a goal. Hale's goal in the first minute was assisted by Lynsey Curry, junior forward. Hale, in her first season transitioning from outside midfielder to forward, leads the team in goals, shots and shots on goal this season.

Curry, the team's leading goal scorer last season, scored her first goal of the season in the ninth minute after a Texas State throw in. Curry asssisted on Rachel Grout's, freshman forward, first collegiate goal in the 68th minute. 

The Bobcats attempted 44 shots in their last two games, while limiting Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Northwestern State to 12 shots combined.

Texas State will play the Lamar Cardinals in their next game, Sept. 5.
