The Texas State baseball team was eliminated from the Sun Belt tournament Saturday after losing 4-3 to first-seeded Louisiana.
The Ragin' Cajuns scored 3 runs in the second inning. Caleb Adams, Louisiana left fielder, and Blake Trahan, Louisiana shortstop, accounted for all 3 runs with a 1-run homerun and 2-run triple.
The Bobcats scored a run in the third and 2 runs in the eighth but never held a lead in the game. Cody Lovejoy, junior right fielder, and Garrett Mattlage, junior shortstop, combined for the Bobcats' two runs batted in. Lovejoy scored on a wild pitch in the eighth inning.
Dylan Bein, freshman pitcher, allowed two earned runs in 5.2 innings. Hunter Lemke, senior pitcher, relieved him and finished the game without allowing an earned run.
The Bobcats finished 32-30 overall, including postseason play.
