The Texas State softball team swept a three-game series against the UT-Arlington Mavericks, outscoring the team by 19 runs overall.
The third game finished in the sixth inning once the Bobcats exceeded the run rule.
Rayn House, senior pitcher, started her second game of the series pitching six innings, allowing one earned run and striking out six to receive her 22nd victory.
Coralee Ramirez, senior outfielder, contributed two home runs and Kortney Koroll, junior designated player, hit one homer. Ramirez and Koroll hit back to back home runs in the bottom of the second inning. Ramirez went 3-4 with 3 runs scored and four runs batted in while Koroll went 2-2 with a walk and hit by pitch.
The Bobcats allowed three total hits. Texas State tallied 12 hits in the win, averaging 11.3 hits in the three-game series.
Texas State outscored UT-Arlington 23-4 in the series and finished with 21 more hits than the Mavericks.
Delia Saucedo, senior outfielder, added two runs batted with one run scored.
The team improves to 9-12 in the conference and remains in fifth place heading into the Sun Belt Conference Tournament that begins May 7.
