The Texas State softball team earned its 19th victory this season, run-ruling Lamar 10-1 in five innings Thursday night at the Bobcat Softball Complex.
Rayn House, senior pitcher, earned 16th victory this season. House pitched all five innings, allowing a run on five hits and striking out seven batters in the game.
The Bobcats got on the board early in the game with a single by Timishia North, senior left fielder, followed by back-to-back doubles by Courtney Harris, junior third baseman, and Kendall Wiley, sophomore first baseman, to make the score 2-0 in the bottom of the first.
Jordan Masek, senior shortstop, hit her first home run of the season to send home 3 runs, making the score 5-0 in the bottom of the second. The team scored a single run in the third and four more in the fourth inning. Lamar scored 1 run in the fourth inning on a homer by Casey Cromwell, Cardinal third baseman.
The Bobcats will travel this weekend to take on conference opponent Louisiana, ranked 20th in the NCAA, in a three-game series in Lafayette.
