University Star

There are a multitude of talented musicians in San Marcos and for one night, the Star is co-sponsoring an event to showcase the great local music San Marcos has to offer.

The Star has been working with Manateam Group, which is an artist collective featuring bands from San Marcos and Austin. They work with bands and try to get the word out on new music and shows among other things. Not only did this group put together a great lineup to get everyone ready for summer, they let us join in and help with the effort of supporting live local music, which is pretty great.

Each venue is only $1 to get in so there’s really no reason not to come. Dig through your couch cushions, car floorboards, or wherever else you keep extra change and come out for a good Friday night.  Also, below are some video previews and links to the band’s websites in case you want some extra insight of the greatness that will ensue.
