Another school year is coming to a close, which means the full impact of senioritis is coming to a head for some students. Everyone is feeling the stress of impending finals and the finality of another grade point average. Now is the time everyone should reflect on how lucky you are to be at Texas State.

A new crop of almost-alumni is preparing to walk across the stage, and while The University Star editorial board still has your attention, we would like to mention not to forget where you came from. Countless hours have been spent walking through The Quad, studying for tests and finals and enjoying the beauty of San Marcos. Do not forget the time spent on this campus upon going out into the world.

When you find success in your chosen field, do not forget to share the fortune with the university. The Alumni Association exists to connect you with the school, even when tuition bills stop flooding your mailboxes.There are countless ways to give back to Texas State. Something as simple as refering a good student to the admissions office is a worthwhile effort. Ask your employer to donate to the university or provide sponsorships for university events. Attend Homecoming.Purchase Texas State apparel to show off your school spirt. Donating even a small amount of money to keep the Bobcat spirit alive through the Alumni Association is a welcomed and worthy effort. Another great way to give back is to buy a Bobcat Brick. Buy the brick, and it will help precipitate a lasting relationship with the university.

Texas State has a few generous alumni donors, such as Jerry and Linda Fields, Emmett and Miriam McCoy, and Patti Harrison. It is doubtful seniors trying on their graduating caps and gowns can immediately bestow millions of dollars upon Texas State, but it is important the university is not forgotten while the money compiles. Even if monetary donations are not a possibility for many people now, you should remember to stay active in the Alumni Association and keep up on how the university is growing and improving. A free and fun way to give back is to continue attending university athletic events.

Even those who are not graduating could do well to remember this idea, because now is the time for students to know their priorities. While seniors are preparing to leave Texas State behind, it is time for everyone else to open their textbooks and prepare diligently for finals and continue working hard for their own futures.

Students pay thousands of dollars to attend Texas State and take advantage of all it has to offer, and in return the university offers a degree and a better future. You have labored for an entire semester, but now is not the time to risk all the hard work. Finals are upon you, and now is the time to work harder, study longer and sleep less. You will thank yourself in a matter of weeks and will only be doing yourself a favor.

Students of all ages and classifications need to remember we are all Bobcats and in this together. Seniors, remember the names and faces of your classmates and extend a helping hand by keeping in touch. Students now are the managers of tomorrow, and professionally networking with your collegiate peers will help generations of Texas State students.
