Texas State shared the first two Vice President for Student Affairs finalists Sept. 21 and Sept. 23 ahead of the candidates’ public interview process.
On Sept. 21, Texas State announced the first VPSA finalist: Dr. Cynthia Hernandez, associate vice president for student affairs at Texas A&M University. Hernandez gave a pubic presentation on the topic of future opportunities and challenges for student affairs leaders Sept. 23.
The second finalist, announced Sept. 23, is Dr. Marcelle Hayashida, associate vice chancellor, wellness, health, & counseling services at the University of California. Hayashida will give a public presentation for the interview process Sept. 25 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Registration for the Zoom webinar to attend the presentation can be accessed here.
Texas State scheduled four finalists for the next round of interviews. An email from Lisa Lloyd, vice president for university administration, states that for confidentiality purposes, finalist names and curriculum vitae are being shared two business days prior to the start of their interview process.
Correction: In an earlier version of this article, The University Star incorrectly referred to Dr. Hayashida as the first announced VPSA finalist. Texas State announced the first candidate to be Dr. Hernandez Sept. 21, and Hayashida is the second. We deeply apologize for this error.
