A federal judge rejected a plan to open central California land to fracking and oil drilling.

The Bureau of Land Management proposed to open 1,500 square miles for drilling and fracking. The judge wrote in the ruling that the BLM didn’t look close enough at the effects, and officials must provide a more in-depth report on how fracking will impact the environment.
