Hays County will be taking part in the National Night Out Against Crime day on October 4, along with more communities in Texas.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community
partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods a safer place to live.
Communities host block parties, festivals and other events to stimulate the communities support and participation in crime efforts, strengthen crime and drug prevention awareness and send the message to criminals that Texas neighborhoods are organized and fighting back through organizations such as town watch and Neighborhood Watch.
Neighborhoods can register online with the Sheriff’s Office at http://www.co.hays.tx.us/sherriff.aspx or with the National Association of Town Watch at https://natw.org/registration. To see if your neighborhood is registered, residents can check with their local law enforcement or their neighborhood watch coordinator.
Registration ends September 16. For any further questions in Hays county, contact Deputy Stephen Traeger of the Hays County Sheriff’s Office at 512-393-7373 or by email at Stephen.firstname.lastname@example.org./.
