Stewarding toward the future of San Marcos, the city is hosting an open house to introduce the draft of Code SMTX Thursday, June 30.
Code SMTX is the city’s Land Development Code that is being rewritten in accordance with the City’s Comprehensive Plan.
The open house will feature presentations that accentuate the changes for development through land use, transportation and environmental standards.
The event will be from noon until 7 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center. It will include two 30-minute presentations, at 12:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., and will give an opportunity for community participation through a survey and questionnaire.
The City’s Comprehensive Plan was adopted in April 2013. It serves the purposes of guiding the city through public health, safety, morals and general welfare.
As part of the Comprehensive Plan, the city implemented the code to sustain the vision of San Marcos.
The City’s Planning and Development Services Department partnered with the Consultant team to update the Code and promote public awareness. Citizens are encouraged to participate in development procedures and provide feedback.
