The Texas State student who allegedly drove the wrong way on Interstate Highway 35 Feb. 19, killing four people when he crashed into oncoming traffic, has been charged with four counts of manslaughter.

Wilson Molinares, 22, crashed into a Ford Winstar, killing Mexican nationals from Canada, Kyle police said. Molinares was critically injured in the incident and was taken to University Medical Center-Brackenridge in Austin. He has since been released.

Heinrich Martens, 31, Gerhard Hiebert Peters, 30,  Margaretha Wall Hilldebrant, 27, and 16-month-old Jacob Wall Hiebert died in the incident.

Molinares’ arrest warrant was signed Monday by Justice of the Peace Beth Smith, Precinct 2.

Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said law enforcement know of Molinares’ whereabouts, but the timing of his arrest depends on his medical condition and the ability of the jail to handle his needs after he is arraigned.

Police said that as of Tuesday evening, Molinares has not yet been arrested.
